Fayha National Choir Biography:
Fayha National Choir is a mixed Lebanese a cappella choir internationally renowned for revolutionizing Arabic choral music.
It was founded in 2003 by Maestro Barkev Taslakian, who remains its principal conductor. The choir was originally based in Tripoli and adopted the city’s local nickname ‘Fayha’.
After branching out across Lebanon to Beirut and Chouf, the choir was named the first Lebanese National Choir in 2022.
With many awards to its name, including first place prizes at the Warsaw International Choir Festival and Middle East Choir Festival, Fayha is globally recognized as a standard for Arabic a cappella.
It has a rich and unique repertoire that revives classics from across the region – offering new interpretations that blend Western harmony with Arabic musical tradition.
The choir has amassed an extensive archive, making it the prime resource worldwide for Arabic choral arrangements, today perfomed by choirs all over the world in order to promote Arab Music.
